Day 5
Focus on student's ability to answer more in depth questions.
Good readers can answer questions that are more geared towards on story
Procedures-
1. talk about the objectives
2. do the close read on the story summer vacation by Gabrielle Sierra. Read it 3 times and ask different questions each time.
3. Do the running record on A scary noise.
4. do long vowel a sort
5. Have him write a few sentences on what he learned from these 5 sessions. Also talk about if he now likes reading .
6. Add onto his autobiography to take home.
Reflection on student- He improved over the 5 sessions that we had. He started to realize when he read a word that he did not need to known he needs to check to make sure it made sense.
Reflection on self- I think that I helped him improve his reading skills as well as helping him enjoy reading more. I still need to work on my lesson plans to make sure that they include enough detail.
